We are a small producer and supplier of high quality Alder and Willow charcoal powder, based in the UK. For you we have available the cheapest charcoal powder for pyrotechnic and art use when compared to art stick drawing charcoal. It is very fine airfloat powder. Alder and Willow charcoals are offered as these are both reported to have the highest performance when used in pyrotechnic applications. Alder being slightly more consistently burning than willow wood.
Charcoal making is an ancient art. Made from 100% pure local cured wood only. We don't use waste Willow from other industrial processes as other charcoal suppliers do. The wood is carefully selected and prepared from new branches no thicker than one inch (2.5cm). Young wood has the highest performance. The curing process takes at least 6 months of drying. The wood is then debarked, split and then heated without air until it carbonises with no ash. De-barking is a very important procedure as many charcoal suppliers do not. The bark contains lichens, fungus and other minerals which have significant negative effect on the performance of the charcoal slowing it down. We only supply the cleanest finest quality charcoal powder.
